Emergency Flood Relief At Area of Sylhet And Sunamganj

As the Surma and the Kushiyara keep rising, more and more areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj are going under water every day and large number of flood victims suffering from scarcity of food and drinking water. As per the dailies around 20 lakh people have been affected by the flash floods in the two districts.

In a joint venture with Give Bangladesh, KKF started its first phase campaign “Fight against Flood” and distributed relief among 300 families on May 23, 2022.  The team covered Syedabad, Latargaon, Rabardam, Baishakandi, Mahishapur, Bahadurpur, Sinakandi, and Rahmatpur villages of Islampur union of Chhatak Upazila and Barbara Primary School, next to Mughalpara Mosque, Hadapandab Bazar.

Each relief package contained 7 kg chira, 1 kg molasses, 10 pieces oral saline, 2 packets biscuits, and water purification tablets.
